I will explain the “A Major” open position chord in the LIVE tutorial. Last week, I think I got a little carried away with the “F Minor” chord and overlooked the importance of “A Major” chord. Many popular numbers such as "Sittin' On The Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding, "Blvd. of Broken Dreams" by Green Day, and "Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out" by Jimmy Cox (although made famous by Bessie Smith and Eric Clapton) use the "A Major" chord. I will not only explain the notes that make up this chord but also the music theory behind this chord. I will also teach you how to transpose this chord so that you will be able to play this exact shape throughout the fretboard.

Hey! Welcome back to Chord Mania! In this Chord Mania tutorial I will teach you how to play the A chord. Free Strumming Mastery Ukulele Course https://www.ukelikethepros.com/offers... The A chord on the ukulele has become very popular because it is an open position chord. An open position chord is one in which at least one of the strings is open, i.e. there is no finger on it. + 1st finger on the 3rd string 1st fret
+ Open 2nd string
+ Open 1st string
You might have noticed that the A major and A minor chords are quite similar on the ukulele. The A minor differs from A major because it does not use the first finger and keeps the third string open.
Major chords have a bright and happy touch while the minor chords...
Something interesting for all ukulele lovers! Uke Like The Pros brings you a cool tutorial for those ready to learn a Brazilian style rhythm. In this lesson, you will learn how to strum a Bossa Nova pattern.
I know learning fingerstyle ukulele is hard as a beginner. But don’t worry! I’m going to show you the easiest way to strum this Bossa Nova rhythm using the index finger. Be sure to follow fingerings that I give you in the lesson.
Typically, the Bossa Nova pattern will use an alternating bass pattern but this really only sounds good if you have a low G on the 4th string. What I have done in this lesson is arrange it so it sounds good on any low or high G tenor, soprano or concert ukulele.
Another cool technique is to play the rhythm staccato (short) to help give it an authentic sound.
So, try to catch all the points discussed in the tutorial and once you master the Bossa Nova strumming you can apply this rhythm to any chord progression you like.
Hope you like the...
